LinkedIn Learning, formerly known as Lynda.com, is a platform that focuses on developing career skills. While most of their courses require a subscription, we have compiled a list of all the free LinkedIn Learning courses that offer certificates on Class Central. These courses add up to more than 110 hours of learning with free certificates of completion.
The Evolution of Free Courses
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Microsoft unlocked 14 learning paths on LinkedIn Learning for free. Following this, we shared a list of these free learning paths along with other educational resources, attracting nearly 1 million learners. Since then, we have been monitoring LinkedIn Learning to identify additional courses offering free certificates.
In 2022, we discovered 137 courses and 7 learning paths that provided free certificates, along with 378 other free courses, totaling approximately 1000 hours of free online learning. However, the availability of free courses has fluctuated, reducing to just over 110 hours in 2024.
Currently, there are 4 free learning paths by Microsoft, 2 other free paths, and 109 standalone courses that offer free certificates on LinkedIn Learning.
Enrolling in Free Certificate Courses
When signing up for LinkedIn Learning, you are offered a 1-month free trial. To access the free courses, you can bypass the payment information screen and proceed directly to the course link provided in our article. Please note that the availability of free certificates may change periodically.

Earning Your LinkedIn Learning Certificate
To obtain a certificate for an individual course, you must watch all the videos, pass the quizzes, and in some cases, complete an exam. Once you have completed the course requirements, you can download your LinkedIn Learning certificate by clicking on “Download” in the course’s related section.
Some courses also offer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits in addition to the certificate. For learning paths, you need to finish all the courses within the path to receive the path certificate.
