IMEX unveils its superpower at the upcoming IMEX America 2024: connecting and educating individuals in the global business event community.
Set to take place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the event kicks off with Smart Monday, powered by MPI on Monday, October 7, followed by the three-day trade show from October 8-10. The IMEX America learning program encompasses over 150 free education sessions, with many happening in the show floor’s newly revamped, multi-theater Inspiration Hub, featuring innovative formats and surprises.
The educational sessions are divided into seven tracks:
- Technology and Innovation
- Business Practices
- Impact
- Trends/Research
- Well-Being
- Experience Design
- Event Marketing
Sessions at the show are eligible for CMP, CSEP, and ICCASkills credits. Detailed information about all education sessions can be found here.
“When designing our learning program, I aim to bring together diverse individuals with a variety of perspectives,” says Tahira Endean, head of Programming at IMEX. “The resulting debates and discoveries are where the magic unfolds.”
Speakers
Drawing from their unique perspectives and experiences, several speakers will delve into the creation of meaningful, culturally relevant experiences that transcend the norm:
- Justin Wren—also a MPI keynote speaker at the show—is a U.S. mixed martial artist who founded Fight for the Forgotten after a life-altering trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo, providing clean water, education, and empowerment to Pygmy communities in Africa.
- Sucheta Rawal, an award-winning food and travel writer, founded Go Eat Give to raise awareness of different cultures through food and travel after visiting over 100 countries across all continents.
- Virginie de Visscher from Destination Canada and Leonie Ashford from Tourism New Zealand will share their experiences as founding members of the Global Indigenous Tourism Association.
With a focus on luxury experiences, a session will feature travel journalist Daniel Scheffler and Susie Arnett, director of Wellness Programming at Six Senses, emphasizing wellness in hospitality.
Trailblazing leader Holly Ransom will lead a new Emergent Leadership Day, exploring leadership from various perspectives with industry leaders from associations and across Las Vegas.
Among the featured speakers is Ashley T Brundage, founder of Empowering Differences, who has overcome various challenges in life related to gender, education, ability, and religion.
A new addition this year is a collaboration with the Unique Speaker Bureau International, bringing over 15 top-level speakers from around the globe to Smart Monday. The event promises quick-fire speaker overviews and opportunities to connect with keynotes for future events.
Innovation
Innovation takes center stage at IMEX America, with Google Xi’s CoLaboratory, Skift Meetings Innovation Lab, and the new Tech Zone Education Stage providing interactive experiences, industry insights, and hands-on tech discussions.
The event also includes meeting planner toolkit sessions covering essential topics like contracts, security, and preparations for REAL ID compliance for U.S. travelers next year.
To enhance the attendee experience, IMEX partners with Snapsight to offer AI-powered tools for accessing session takeaways easily and efficiently.
A Rapper, Poet, and “Party Scientist”
In addition to the educational sessions, attendees can look forward to engaging experiences with a rapper, a poet, a “party scientist,” and more, designed to add value and joy to their IMEX America 2024 experience.
